Georgetown University Study Abroad Program Budget 2019-2020

Additional or Reduced Costs for a Full Year Student: Provide info here:
Full year students only pay the visa fee once as long as they apply as a full year student. Housing is not available to students during the winter break.

Explanation for Budget Items:

  • GU Tuition: Students pay Georgetown tuition for all semester and full year study abroad programs.
  • Education Abroad Insurance Fee: Mandatory health insurance provided by GU.
  • Housing: Please review the program brochure for details on program housing.
  • Meals: For students in a homestay or folkehøjskole, this amount will be less.  Students staying in homestays will have meals provided by the homestay family. Students in a folkehøjskole will have most meals provided. DIS will provide a $600 stipend to offset the cost of meals for students in residential housing.
  • Personal Expenses: This budget item is meant to cover general expenses of daily life. Typically includes toiletries, snacks, cell phones, local transportation, limited cultural activities, and other miscellaneous expenses. Personal expenses do not include any entertainment or vacation/personal travel costs.
 
Financial Aid: The Office of Student Financial Services will use this budget sheet, including all items listed in the table above, to adjust your financial aid package.
